I don’t mind playing a lesbian says Priyanka
Bollywood Gossip : Bollywood Actress Priyanka Chopra seems to be getting bolder by the day. Whether it be her look in her last films, or the characters and the kind of films she is opting for, she seems to be eyeing the numero uno crown. And no, no dumb glam-doll kind of roles for
We have seen men playing gay characters many a time in Bollywood films but women doing the role of a lesbian have been rare. Perhaps the only film that most of us would recollect (or not) is the Eesha Koppikhar- Amrita Arora starrer ‘Girlfriend’ that ended up in controversies for some bold scenes and also bombed badly at the box-office.
But with Priyanka Chopra willing to play a lesbian character, the million dollar question is, who among the top actresses will play a lesbian partner to her? Certainly not Kareena Kapoor, given their not-so-great rapport and Priyanka may not want to pair up with Katrina Kaif for her non-existing acting skills! That leaves us with Kangana Ranaut, but rumours have it that the two did not get along so well on the sets of ‘Fashion’. So we asked Priyanka herself who would be her preferred choice, and she shot back, “How can I decide, that’s up to the filmmakers.” Well, we leave it up to the filmmakers too. Any names, guys?
Deepika’s ‘Dum’dar sexy look from DUM MAARO DUM
Deepika, who will be seen gyrating to the sexy number, worked very hard for the look of the song. She worked out rigorously, and trained hard for the dance. The number which is one of the most awaited songs of the season, will Deepika in her most sexy avatar till date.
She was going to wear the shortest skirt, ever to be worn by a Bollywood actress, however, when she started doing her dance movements, she realised that her movements became awkward due the short skirt, and since Dum Maaro Dum song has some great dance movements they could be changed.
That’s when Deepika called director Rohan Sippy, and requested him to change her outfit a bit, as otherwise she was not being able to do justice to sensuous dance movements. Rohan immediately complied, and asked designer Anahita Adajania Shroff to change the outfit a bit. The outfit was finally changed to hot shorts, and tassels over it to give the look of a skirt. But, we are sure no one is complaining as Deepika is still looking fab in it.
Not just that Deepika had some very tough scenes to do in the song, like there was one scene, Deepika was required to have around 50-60 big, red ants crawling on her back. The scene was a very crucial one but Rohan Sippy was not keen on having Deepika do the scene, as it would be a very risky one.
However, Deepika being the thorough professional that she is, refused to use a body double, even though Rohan Sippy insisted on using one for the scene, as she felt that would not look authentic, and chose to do the scene herself.
Deepika had to have the crawlies on her back for almost half a day, as the scene had to be shot from various angles. Many times Deepika would be bitten by the ants, but not once did she complain. In fact, when the shot was over, Deepika‘s back was completely red due to the ant bites.
The gorgeous actress looks, smoking hot in the song, in fact, this is the first time that the item girl of a film, has made it to the poster of a film, that too solo.

After a poor show by SRK, Rakhi taunts King Khan
The Shah Rukh Khan hosted Zor Ka Jhatka opened with dismal viewer ratings and has been dipping steadily ever week.
It has now achieved the distinction of having the lowest TRPs ever for a show hosted by a Bollywood star! Even a Rakhi Sawant anchored show attracts more eyeballs than King Khan’s latest outing on the small screen.
And Rakhi has not been mincing any words on her popularity ratings. “My Rakhi Ka Insaaf on the same channel (Imagine) had more viewership than Zor Ka Jhatka.”
And in her characteristic candour she declares, “Ek dum Zor Ka Jhatka laga hai!”
ZKJ opened with a 2.6 TVR but could not manage to attract audience in the second week and its average rating dropped to 1.7 to 1.4 TVR.
Rakhi Sawant’s Rakhi Ka Swayamvar opened with a rating of 4.12 TVR and maintained an average rating of 3.04 TVR.
Ever since ZKJ went on air on February 1, there has been furore over SRK’s decision to host Zor Ka Jhatka. The desi version of the international reality show Total Wipeout has lived up to its name.
King Khan has been under the scanner for taking up the small screen assignment that has turned out to be a damp squib just like its contestants who get dunked in pools of water.

Abhi-Ash To Attend Oscars?
| |
Bollywood's star couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, who are currently in Los Angeles for a holiday, will be attending the 83rd Annual Academy Awards Sunday, according to megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
"Ya, Abhishek and Aishwarya have been invited by the Academy to attend the Oscars on Sunday ... so ... (sic)," Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.
Amitabh spilled the duo's plans while sharing how American actor Warren Beatty met Abhishek at an LA store for fittings.
"Oh! And incidentally they were getting fitted at a clothes store, for the Oscars Award ceremony for Sunday - Warren and Abhishek!," added Amitabh.
Abhishek, who had been busy with the shooting of "Players" in New Zealand, is in LA for a break with his wife Aishwarya. The couple will also be meeting once Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, who is also expected to attend the prestigious ceremony.
These apart, music composer A.R. Rahman, who has been nominated for two categories at the Oscar this year, will be attending the event too.
Rahman, who won two Oscars for his work in the 2009 movie Slumdog Millionaire, is vying for the golden statuette for the original score of Danny Boyle's 127 Hours as well as original song If I Rise from the same movie, this year. Rahman will also be performing the song at the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Bollywood fraternity is pinning hopes that the Mozart of Madras brings back the trophies this year too.
India-born British film editor Tariq Anwar is also in the Oscar race with a nomination for his work in the hugely popular historical drama The King's Speech.
